BYOB with Incubeta UK
Last Friday was an exciting day for the Incubeta London office as we hosted our first ever ‘Build Your Own Brand’ workshop – a fantastic day filled with insightful drop in sessions, LinkedIn training and branding presentations. Not to mention an office wide Macmillan cake and coffee morning where we raised over £500 for cancer support. With copious amounts of cake, cocktails and upskilling here’s some of our highlights from the first of many Incubeta BYOB days…
Making the Most of LinkedIn
LinkedIn is a huge resource for brand awareness, and with over 15% of Incubeta’s site visitors coming from LinkedIn alone, it’s a huge source of opportunity for us. We wanted to educate our staff on the multitude of opportunities that LinkedIn can present, and how they can utilize their reach potential on the platform.
Split into two sessions, Global Communications & Social Media Manager Becky Archibald, and Talent Acquisition Manager, Chloe Palk led structured training, taking staff (across a range of roles and seniority) through the importance of LinkedIn, and curating a persona in the digital space. These were run on both a basic and more advanced level, to ensure that the content was accessible for everyone, from Graduates, right through to our CEO.
“The session managed to strike a great balance of nailing down the basics of LinkedIn and exploring features that I didn’t even know existed. The insights into the variety of audiences that are engaged by different types of posts were particularly interesting” – Will Haynes, PPC Analyst
“The session was so thorough and thought provoking. The marketing team tailored the LinkedIn content to our personal needs as an agency and as individuals. As someone in the partnerships team I use LinkedIn constantly and the session made me think about how I can leverage my own expertise to put out the content that fits my brand and will engage my contacts. I hope to put what I have learned into practice and create a more informative and approachable profile.” – Seren Roberts, CSS Partnerships Executive
Personal Branding Drop-Ins
With a busy Q4 ahead, Incubeta wanted to create accessible sessions that staff could drop in and out of throughout the day, without causing distraction from their work. With this in mind, we ran a collection of ‘open door’ style walk-in personal-branding workshops.
Different stations throughout the office boasted the opportunity to develop personal bios, get a full LinkedIn health check, or get to grips with best practices on our employee advocacy platform.
Staff were offered the opportunity to lend their hand to a ‘random act of kindness’, by picking out a soft skill from a raffle, finding someone in the business who they felt fostered that talent, and reaching out to them to endorse them for that online, starting a chain reaction of positive affirmations throughout the office and further afield. This layout provided the perfect opportunity for new joiners, and long standing employees to mix, share learnings, and network in an open environment, following over a year of remote working!
“The drop-in sessions on Friday were ideal as I could nip in and out between meetings. It allowed me to have the flexibility to go speak to the team when I had time, and they not only helped me curate an amazing new bio for LinkedIn but they also gave me high-value tips on how to really make my profile stand out and ooze off my own merits. A great day and I really feel like I learnt so much!” – Saleha Ashikali, Senior Account Executive
Re-Introducing the New Incubeta Narrative
Following Incubeta’s rebrand in April, our growth narrative has continued to blossom, and as a business, personal development and helping others to succeed is at the core of all that we do. With upcoming changes towards a more unified brand, Incubeta wanted to ensure that our staff live and breathe the Incubeta narrative, and become our biggest advocates along the way; which requires complete transparency and communication.
To round up our BYOB day the marketing team wanted to reintroduce Incubeta’s brand story, presenting latest company updates, exciting announcements and introducing new initiatives (plus branded merch) for employees to get excited about. Because there’s nothing quite like a newly branded notepad to lift the spirits!
Transparency has always been paramount to the success of our working culture, and the 45 minute session was a great opportunity for us to showcase all the brilliant work our growth, strategy and leadership teams have been doing over the last 6 months.
Let Them Have Cake (& Cocktails)!
Of course, no internal employee based event would ever be complete without some sort of incentive, and what better opportunity than to eat cake whilst raising money for Macmillan Cancer Care, with lovingly home baked cakes and generous donations seeing us raise over £500.
Our brilliant Office Coordinator, Tahira Begum took this one step further and produced a beautiful array of delicious Incubeta-coloured cocktails and mocktails to end the day and showcase our exciting new brand colours.

Cocktails, cake and LinkedIn aside, it was great to be back in the office with an in-person interactive event and our main highlight has to be seeing so many of the team together in one place collaborating, socialising and building their own brand. Definitely an event we’ll be bringing to the rest of our global offices.
“As a business that values personal upskilling and development it’s crucial that we support our staff, and enable everyone to build their professional reputation. Our first BYOB day did exactly this. It was fantastic to see our staff so engaged in the activities, and enthusiastic to build their own personal brand. I’ve already seen learnings being put into practice by our people on social media this week and I look forward to doing the same from my end” – Sally Laycock, Incubeta UK CEO
