Harnessing the Power of Creative for a Worthy Cause

There’s no denying that creative is a powerful communication tool. Design has the unique ability to engage and connect with the viewer, conveying meaning on a deeper level. Using our creative expertise we decided to harness this power to raise awareness of important global issues in the hopes of helping information reach a wider audience on social media.

We chose to work with “Factivism,” (or fact-based activism), by Global Goals that focuses on ten surprising facts about the state of the world right now. 

The Global Goals for Sustainable Development is built on the 17 Global Goals that were agreed on in 2015 by world leaders in all 193 UN Member States. These goals have the power to create a better world by tackling issues such as poverty reduction and inequality, improving education and healthcare, ensuring clean water and sanitation, and many more — all based on the principle of “leaving no one behind.”

In order to achieve these goals, it’s important to understand the facts about what is going on in the world and the progress that needs to be made. To shine a spotlight on these facts, our team created a series of animations that highlighted and visualized Factivism’s goals to resonate with audiences around the world. 

Using a range of colorful visual treatments, the animations combine text with original illustration to bring each fact to life and make the issue more accessible. Each designer concepted a visual metaphor for the data using their own personal design style.
